Privacy in our computing life is a concern for everyone and for many different reasons. Our computers contain all sorts of sensitive and private data. Sometimes all we need to do is protect our data from unauthorized access or deletion. For whatever reason that we seek to secure our data, it has never been easy, until now.

Encrypted Magic Folders (EMF) is an ingenious solution to a significant problem. Now with not more than the click of a mouse, you can select which directories and/or files on your computer that you would like to be hidden completely from view.

A password known only by you allows the files to magically re-appear! A hot-key sequence that you define, (like Ctrl-Alt-A), immediately brings up the password confirmation box giving you instant access to your files. There is no indication on your desktop that any program to protect your files is running!

Up to five different users per computer can have passwords. This is great for office workers who must share a computer. Co-workers can't delete files that they can't see!

EMF's Blowfish encryption is totally transparent to you. EMF decrypts and encrypts your files as you use them. Your most sensitive files are secure even at the DOS level with file-name scrambling.

Sure, nothing is totally secure. A truly committed thief/hacker could find a way to get at your files given enough time, but if you have something that crucial to protect why not just take the data files with you?

Let Encrypted Magic Folders protect your data from prying eyes, children and any other unauthorized user.
